A team of people with Utah-Idaho LWML went on a mission trip to El Paso, TX and Juarez, Mexico in January 2026. The members of this team, pictured above, include from left to right: Carla & Ryan Shields from Caldwell, ID, President Terri & Dale Bentley from Garden Valley, ID, Toni & Rob Champlin from Kimberly, ID and Betty Oloff from Idaho Falls. It was a sheer pleasure to 'Serve the LORD with gladness' with this delightful and gifted team.
The people of Juarez were very receptive to sharing in song, Bible study and various activities that gave praise to our LORD and King. The men on our team worked hard to repair damaged roofs and ceilings on two different homes. The people extended to each of us many 'thank you's' (Muchas Gracias!), smiles, hugs, tears of joy and shared delicious authentic Mexican food. Our hearts and tummies were constantly full of their gratitude!
We want to thank the members of the Utah-Idaho District for supporting the Mission Grant and other generous donations to send a team on a trip for this biennium 2024-2026. For myself, it was a very uplifting and heart moving experience and I am ever grateful for this opportunity. To God be the glory!
To hear more about this Mission Trip, two of our members will be giving a full report for 'Mites in Action' at our District LWML Convention in May. I highly recommend your attendance at this event. Also, you can read more about our mission time in the Ysleta Lutheran newsletter on their website at ylm.org.
