Ingathering and Servant Event
By Madison Elliott, VP of Special Focus Ministries
Convention 2024 has come and gone in a blink of an eye. One of the highlights of Convention 2024 was the Ingathering hosted for Little Lambs Foundation of Cache Valley. Little Lambs is a non-profit organization of Cache Valley, Utah that assists 2,000 families monthly in accessing diapers for their children. As a result, the impact of child abuse and neglect is lessened within the communities that encompass Cache Valley. This year, the Utah-Idaho Lutheran Women’s Missionary League was able to collect 2,362 diapers, 827 pull-ups and 5932 wipes. Ted Chalfant, the Executive Director for Little Lambs Foundation of Cache Valley shared a heartfelt thanks, expressing gratitude for the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Lutheran Women in Mission who made these donations possible.
The servant event this year was focused upon creating “Busy Bags” for hospitalized children in Cache Valley, UT and at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Our gracious Lutheran Women in Mission collected stuffed animals, tissues, puzzle books, clipboards, crayons, fidget toys, bubbles and Play-Doh to stuff inside of the bags. When children are hospitalized, they experience a variety of emotions, particularly anxiety and fear. These Busy Bags will provide them with distraction tools, positive messages (such as our fidget frogs that say “Jump for Jesus”) and coloring pages to focus upon while they heal. Many of the items in the Busy Bags are focused upon Jesus, blessings and resilience. Our Lutheran Women in Mission stuff fifty bags for Logan Regional Hospital and fifty bags for Primary Children’s Hospital.
Thank you to the Utah-Idaho Lutheran Women in Mission for your grace, compassion and dedication to improving the lives of children in Cache Valley, UT. You have made a difference!

Christina Hergenrader
YWRS-Three Strategies for Christian Relationships (Session1) Author Christina Hergenrader shared 3 ways to build healthy relationships. As a Growth Coach, Christina encouraged women who want to live the light of Christ with their friends and family through healthier relationships. Creating a Culture of Grace (Session 2) Through the generations, a culture has formed in your family. Your culture might be one of connection, grace, or fun. Maybe your family culture has more regret or apathy than you’d like. Christina Hergenrader helped us understand why it’s worth our energy to create a culture of grace in our family and how we can take steps to start creating a culture of grace, no matter where we’re starting from. |
Rev. Kirk Triplett
Mental Health in the Church (Session 1) The mental health of pastors and church workers is fragile, at best. Many in ministry suffer from emotional exhaustion leading to depersonalization, resulting in the lack of personal accomplishment. Subjective, ambiguous job expectations and always being on call cause many to waver in their calling or even leave the ministry. What if that could be changed? What if there was a way that church members intentionally found ways to increase the Positive Mental Health of their pastors and church workers? This workshop focused on how church members can help pastors and church workers combat the ambiguous and shifting demands impacting their mental health and cultivate habits that promote positive mental health. This was a fun and interactive workshop! Together we can help the church flourish! |
