BALLOTING RESULTS
All items on the ballot for finances, bylaws, and standing rules were approved.
- The Mite Goal for the 2020-2022 biennium is $69,500, supporting our mission grants and operating expenses.
- The budget for the 2020-2022 biennium is $77,900, which includes Mites and other income sources to cover all budgeted expenses.
- Annual dues per member will be $10/year. These dues help send our district’s delegates to the LWML national convention and allow more of our Mites to be available to support our mission grants.
- The $1,000 unpaid grant for LCMS Office of International Mission will be redirected to the MOST Short-term Mission Scholarship for Women of the Utah-Idaho District.
- The newly revised bylaws give our district the necessary structure to guide us in the coming biennium. They now conform to national LWML by aligning job titles and duties for better communication. Other bylaw changes assist the district to comply with current practices and to improve processes for the future.
- The Standing Rules amendments include wording that better explains several financial matters and clarifies other minor terminology.

2020 LWML DISTRICT CONVENTION LOGO
by Nan Mueller
When creating the 2020 LWML District Convention logo, I addressed the whole verse of John 4:35 rather than the theme alone – Lift Up Your Eyes. (Jesus said,) “Do you not say, ’There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are ripe for harvest.” With this full verse, it allowed me to add in the harvest – the wheat – those who do not yet know Jesus and to whom He is having us share the Good News of the Gospel.
We, as followers of Christ, want to tell of His love, mercy, and grace, thus leading us – the people – to lift our hands and eyes in praise to Him. The cross, shining like the sun/Son, brings in Christ, our focus; and also provides the high point in the triangle depicting our Triune God. I was also reminded of Pastor Guse's discussion years ago regarding our “earth to heaven” vertical interactions with God and horizontal interactions with other people in the world – again, the wheat. Finally, the added colors bring forth the vibrancy of Christ in our life with the red letters indicating the words of Jesus.
