Ways to Give to LWML
Mite Box
Even before LWML was organized in 1942 Lutheran women were collecting their missionary offerings in Mite Boxes. Throughout the decades, Lutheran women have stepped out in faith, setting goals and trusting God to move the hearts of His people to give generously to LWML to proclaim the Gospel. While Mite Boxes have changed in color and design over the years, what has never changed is the freely given offerings to reach out to others with the Good News of Jesus Christ. 75% of our mite offerings support the work of the Utah-Idaho District; 25% assists the work of the national LWML.

Joyful Response®
Joyful Response is a service of the Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) that provides the ability for LWML to offer their members and supporters an electronic, automated method to make their mite contributions. Joyful Response saves time for LWML members while providing consistent Mite offerings to the District in support of their current mission grants. Contact our District Treasurer to begin or change your participation in Joyful Response.
Thrivent Choice Dollars®
Thrivent Financial is a not-for-profit corporation that does not pay federal taxes. Because of this they give back to the community what they would have had to pay in taxes; one way this is accomplished is through Choice Dollars. If you are a Thrivent member and pay premiums for their products, you most likely have Choice Dollars to direct to any charitable organization listed on their website. You can direct them in the following ways.

- Online: Visit www.thrivent.com/thriventchoice. Scroll down and click on the “Get Started” button on the “How Do I Direct My Designated Choice Dollars” box and follow the instructions. (Note: Our district is listed with a Twin Falls address, national LWML is listed with the St. Louis, Missouri, address.)
- By phone: Call 1-800-847-4836 and when prompted, say “Thrivent Choice.” Keep following the prompts, a representative will then work with you to direct Choice Dollars.
Thrivent Action Team
Thrivent provides seed money to help Thrivent members bring people together to meet a need. Many of LWML’s servant activities align with Thrivent’s mission to help Christians live generously and could become Action Team activities if a Thrivent member is participating in leading the activity. (Some examples of Action Team projects are given at www.thrivent.com/making-a-difference/files/27517H.pdf.) A Thrivent member, seeing a need, can apply to lead a volunteer team to meet that need. Once the idea is approved, Thrivent sends an Action Kit packed with items to help make the project a success—it even includes $250 in seed money to help get the project started. (Note: This is seed money to kick-start the project, it is not given to the project beneficiary.)
